Chris DeMontague — ready for the big times

WITH a degree in economics from Kingston University in London, Chris DeMontague could have pursued a different path but has his focus set on making it in the music business as a singer.

Chris DeMontague Thrills at Jamaica Jazz and Blues

Following a stellar showing on the Heineken talent stage Friday last, at the recently held Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, Chris DeMontague went on to turn heads as he hit the main stage the following day, rubbing shoulders with the likes of international stars Natalie Cole, Air Supply and Committed.

His debut found him opening for popular reggae superstar Tarrus Riley, with a performance that not only got him noticed, but received rave reviews from local publication The Jamaica Observer stating:

"The artiste dubbed the promise of tomorrow... If his delivery is anything to go by then we can agree with Soul Train that it won't be long before his name will be ringing on the lips of lovers of great music. With a powerful rendition of Sam Cooke's Change Is Gonna Come, the upcoming star made his exit."

It seems the change has already come for this rising star, who continues to impress as he makes his mark on the music scene.
